Thobile 'Sana King' Mavuso
Thobile Pamela ‘Sana King’ Mavuso (b.1999) is an award-winning Johannesburg-based poet and multidisciplinary visual artist working in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Wits University, where she is currently completing her Master’s. Rooted in her Ndebele heritage, her work amplifies women’s stories, labor, and cultural contributions while addressing historical erasure. She founded Mind Liberators, a non-profit mentoring young poets, teaching arts, and supporting children’s education. Sana’s collaborations with brands and institutions bridge art, innovation, and social impact, redefining art as a tool for healing and empowerment.
