Nathan Gates

Nathan Gates, born in 1989, is a South African artist and experimental product designer whose practice explores how thought gives rise to form and function in the physical world. His work is characterized by repurposed technical objects, consumer products and cultural artifacts. He holds a BFA from The University of Stellenbosch and MA from The University of The Witwatersrand. Gates lives and works in Johannesburg.
